BioSciences at Rice is home to undergraduate and doctoral degree programs in Biochemistry & Cell Biology and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. We also participate in multidisciplinary degree programs in Biological Science, Environmental Science, and Neuroscience, as well as professional science master’s programs in Bioscience & Health Policy and Environmental Analysis. We are investigating fundamental properties of living organisms and impacts on the future quality of life on earth. Our research spans animal behavior, biochemistry, biophysics, cancer biology, cell biology, computational biology, conservation biology, developmental biology, ecology, evolution, genetics, microbiology, neurobiology, plant biology, signal transduction, structural biology, synthetic biology, and systems biology. Our faculty members play prominent positions in diverse scientific organizations and have received national and international recognition for their research and mentoring accomplishments.
